Privacy Policy

RestRuno is a local-first desktop application. Your collections, requests, environments, variables, scripts and responses are stored on your own device and are never transmitted to us. We do not run analytics, telemetry, or advertising of any kind, and we do not sell data to anyone.

Data the app transmits

Network communication initiated by RestRuno is limited to:

• Requests you explicitly send — HTTP requests you compose go directly from your machine to the API you are testing.
• Update checks — the app queries GitHub Releases to look for new versions. No personal information is included. (Microsoft Store installs are updated by the Store instead and perform no update checks.)
• License activation and validation (Pro) — when you activate a license key, the key, your computer's hostname (used as a device label) and an anonymous machine identifier are sent to Polar, our merchant of record, to enforce the device limit. You can remove a device at any time from the app (Deactivate) or your Polar purchase page.
• Optional AI features — if you configure an AI provider, the request/response involved in an AI action is sent to the endpoint you chose, using your own credentials. With local providers (Ollama, LM Studio) nothing leaves your machine. AI settings are stored locally and the feature is fully optional and disabled by default.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Polar as merchant of record. Payment details are handled entirely by Polar and never reach RestRuno or our servers; Polar's privacy policy applies to the checkout.

Data on our website

restruno.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare. We do not set tracking cookies. Cloudflare may process standard connection logs (such as IP addresses) to serve and protect the site, per Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Data retention and your rights

The only data associated with you that we can access is your Polar purchase record and its license activations. You can deactivate devices yourself, and you may contact us to request deletion of license data, subject to legal bookkeeping obligations handled by Polar.
