RestRuno End User License Agreement (EULA)

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you ("you", "User") and the RestRuno developer ("Licensor") for the RestRuno desktop application, including its free features and the paid "RestRuno Pro" features (together, the "Software").

By downloading, installing, or using the Software you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

  1. LICENSE GRANT 1.1 Free features. Licensor grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software's free features for personal or commercial purposes, free of charge. 1.2 Pro features. Upon purchase of a RestRuno Pro license key, Licensor grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to activate and use the Pro features on up to two (2) devices that you own or control. A Pro license is perpetual for the major version it was purchased for and includes the updates Licensor chooses to publish for it.

  2. RESTRICTIONS You may not, and may not permit others to: a) redistribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the Software or any license key; b) share a license key beyond the device limit in Section 1.2; c) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Software, or circumvent its license verification, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law; d) modify or create derivative works of the Software; e) use the Software in violation of applicable law.

  3. LICENSE KEYS AND VALIDATION Pro license keys are issued and validated through Polar (polar.sh), the merchant of record for RestRuno Pro purchases. The Software contacts the license service periodically to validate active keys. Licensor may revoke keys that are refunded, charged back, resold, or publicly shared.

  4. PRIVACY AND DATA The Software is local-first: your collections, environments, variables, scripts, and request data are stored on your device and are not transmitted to Licensor. Network communication initiated by the Software is limited to: (a) requests you explicitly send; (b) update checks against GitHub Releases; (c) license activation/validation against Polar; and (d) optional AI features, which call the endpoint you configure using your own credentials.

  5. PURCHASES AND REFUNDS Purchases are processed by Polar as merchant of record. Billing questions, invoices, and refunds are governed by Polar's terms and the refund policy shown at checkout.

  6. UPDATES The Software may download and install updates automatically. Updates are provided under this Agreement unless accompanied by a separate license.

  7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

  8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE. LICENSOR'S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

  9. TERMINATION This Agreement terminates automatically if you breach it. Upon termination you must stop using the Software and destroy all copies. Sections 2, 7, 8, and 10 survive termination.

  10. GENERAL This Agreement is the entire agreement regarding the Software and supersedes any prior versions. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Earlier releases of RestRuno (2.x and older) that were distributed under the MIT license remain governed by that license; this Agreement applies to version 3.0.0 and later.
